Powerchairs and Electric wheelchairs are either indoor or outdoor machines that generally allow the occupant to drive themselves. They usually have a controlled mounted on the arm which controls 1 - 2 motors that propels the chair. Electric wheelchairs sometimes retain the manual handrests that also allow the machines to be pushed by a carer, whereas powerchairs are usually only driveable by the occupant. There are lots of types and sizes of these chairs ranging from smaller, lighter models that can be moved in a car to larger 'street-capable' chairs.
