Electric Lift Chairs (AKA- Smokey Dawson Chairs)

A lift chair is a terrific idea for those who find it hard to get themselves out of a recliner- they stand up so you don't have to! Image a chair that is as comfy as your old leather recliner, but at the push of a button it begins to tip to a 45-degree angle so you virtually are left standing up. Yes, it's that easy.

No one I have ever met has 'fallen out' of a lift chair- you can stop it any time you feel uncomfortable- and it reclines at the touch of a button too. The other big complaint I hear is that when it comes time to close the recliner, unless you have a lever type, you need to push very hard with your legs to shut the footrest. This not only puts unnecessary strain on your legs, hips and back, but is also just plain hard to do!

Country-music star Smokey Dawson \ Smoky Dawson attached his name to one of these chairs. He loved them so much he even made his own brand and sold them for many years of his life. Nowadays the Dawson Chair has been phased out, and very few remain in use. However, the prices have dropped significantly since this day and now it is not uncommon to get a good model- brand new- from $995.

There are a number of variations on the theme: for example, you can get them in fabric, vinyl, leather, waterproof- you name it, they make it. You can also purchase liftchairs with two-motors for complete control over back and leg operation, or heat and massage types that are a blessing on a cold day!

heated lift chair
Trying to get info about a lift chair that is also heated. I can't see from your website whether your lift chairs have a heating switch as well as the lift component. Please call me on 0417 420 907 or email me about this issue. My dad is 90 and needs a decent chair. Thanks Jenny
