Transit \ Transport chairs are wheelchairs lighter cousins. They have smaller rear wheels (without hand rims) which means that someone needs to push the occupant at all times. The removal of this wheel does two important things: reduces weight- a standard transit chair weighs only 17kg as opposed 23kg- and enables it to be far more compact.
